Who's this for

Three reasons to let your child try golf.

Train focus and patience

Golf asks for attention on one swing, one ball, one moment. For a kid who gets distracted easily, that's something to grow into at their own pace.

Dealing with a bad shot

Accepting a bad shot without throwing the club, that has to be learned. Golf shows kids that a bad shot is part of the game, that the next one can be better, and that it's down to them.

A sport for life

Football and hockey stop at some point for most people. Golf you play your whole life. What your kid learns now, they'll still use at fifty.

About me

Hi, I'm Youri.

I work with kids differently than with adults. Shorter blocks, more play, less explaining. First learning to handle the club safely, then fun, and technique only when a kid is ready for it.

Per age group

Three paces for three ages.

Age 8 to 10

Discover

Junior-sized clubs, short drills, mostly fun. No strict technique yet, just learning to handle the club safely. 50-minute sessions, once a week.

Age 11 to 13

Build form

Now we work on technique: grip, stance, swing path. Clubs sized to the kid. We track progress, without pushing it.

Age 14 to 17

Get serious

For those who really want to push on. We look at the TrackMan data, build out the short game and possibly work toward Handicap 54. Also good prep for a school golf team or NGF junior tournaments.

First time

What happens in the first lesson?

01

Getting to know each other

I ask whether your kid has ever held a club and what they want to do today. No long explanation, just easing into it.

02

First swings

With a club at the right length. First hitting the ball, not how it looks yet. A good feel comes first, technique comes later.

03

Quick recap

Briefly with you as the parent too. What went well, what's a logical next step, and whether a follow-up lesson fits where your kid is now.

From a coaching client
"After getting my Handicap 54 I booked several lessons with Youri, and eventually a lesson package. Together with a good friend we also took shared lessons. The experience is very positive and I have seen a lot of improvement in my game, across all areas, from putting and chipping to better striking with the driver. All lessons are calm, constructive, and in a relaxed atmosphere. I will definitely keep taking lessons with Youri."

Frequently asked questions

From age 8 it usually goes well. A bit younger is possible, but a full 50-minute lesson is often still too long then. Unsure? Give me a quick call and we'll figure it out together.
